Porridge is a classic for breakfast, to serve with fruit or dried fruit but it can be a good lunch as well in its savory version. Here there are 3 sweet ideas and 3 savory ideas, invented and eaten by me in few times.
There is here the basic recipe for Porridge.
-hazelnut cream, melted directly at the end of the cooking of the porridge
-orange’s slices
-dark chocolate, roughly chopped
VEGAN
-pan-roasted pistachios
-syrup
-berries, reheated for few dozens of seconds in a little pot with a teaspoon of brown sugar
-apples caramelized in a non-stick pan with butter, sugar and brandy, at slow fire, for few minutes
-vanilla Skyr mixed with a little heavy cream
(I added few spoons of Skyr and vanilla extract at the Porridge while it was cooking)
-when the porridge was nearly cooked, I added beans in can which I dried and washed previously and cooked for few minutes in a pan with onion cut in little slices, oil, a little heavy cream, curry, salt and pepper
-egg fried in a pan with olive oil
-tomato cut in slices
-grana padano’s fondue: I boiled some milk with a little maizena, salt, black pepper and cinnamon; I turned off the fire and added the minced grana padano and I mixed until melted.
VEGAN
-vegan mince, cooked in a pan with olive oil, salt, pepper and chili pepper
-frozen mixed wok spicy vegetables, pan-fried with Vegan butter, salt, pepper
-a little fresh olive oil
Buon appetito!
