Melon jam

A friend of my family gave me two melons from a little town in the province of Mantova that is famour for the high quality of their lemons, and since they were well ripe and I didn’t want them to get wasted, with some of them I decided to prepare some jam. The compactness was smooth and creamy, perfect to spread on melba toast in the morning.

Time of preparation

about 1 hour

Servings

2 little jars of jam

What did I use

jars for jam (2 little), one spoon, a large pot, a skimmer, a cutting board, a knife, a blender

Ingredients

1 kg of pulp of melon (cut in little cubes after cleaning it and taking off the seeds)

100 gr of white sugar

100 gr of icing sugar

1 teaspoon of ground ginger

1 teaspoon of lemon juice

How did I do

I mixed all the ingredients in the pot and let them cook at slow fire for about 45 minutes.

I took off the lather on the surface, I blended everything with the blender, I poured the jam in the jars, I closed them well and I put them upside down immediately. Then, I let them cool completely.

My jar was ready to be kept in my pantry for several months! Super creamy, sweet, as every type of jam it depends on the quality of the fruit. Perfect to serve on some homemade bread.

Buon appetito!
