Yellow peppers filled with sauerkrauts

A tasty and super creamy side dish made with already cooked sauerkrauts. Simple and fast, it has a sweet and savoury taste.

Time of preparation

about 30 minutes

What do you need

a pot with its lid, a large bowl, a colander, a spoon, a knife, a cutting board

125 gr of sauerkrauts, already cooked, dried

1 big yellow pepper

25 gr of sweet mustard

25 gr of honey

1 spoon of flour

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg

25 gr of ground cheese

Olive oil as required

How did I do

I boiled the pepper in the pan with plenty of salted water after having done few cuts in the upper part of it with the knife , at medium heat, covered with the lid until tender about 10 minutes).

I cut the upper part of the pepper following the cut I made before, I took off the seeds and I let it dry for few minutes upside down on the cutting board.

In the bowl, I mixed the sauerkrauts with the mustard, the flour, the honey, salt and pepper and the cheese.

I filled the pepper with the sauerkrauts and put it in the baking tray slightly oiled. I poured a little more oil on it and cooked at 200 °C for about 15 minutes.

I served warm.

(It is even better to prepare it few hours before and reheat it so that the mixture of sauerkrauts is more compact.)

Buon appetito!
