A classic: bread, tomatoes and basil are the main ingredients of this poor but tasty dish which everyone appreciates. This is how I prepare it. (In the picture you see, next to the bruschetta, another starter that I really like, a ricotta and potato flan, and that you can find here)

What did I use
A cutting board, a knife for bread and one for the tomatoes, a glass bowl, a baking tray, a sheet of oven paper, a spoon
Ingredients
A loaf of bread or few slices of it
Tomatoes or cherry tomatoes
Fresh basil, few leaves
Salt to taste
Garlic, 1 slice
Olive oil as required
How did I do
I reheated the oven at high heat.
I cut the bread in slices tight about 2 cm (I used the loaf of bread, otherwise one can just take the slices) and put them on the baking tray with oven paper.
I put the baking tray in the oven for about 15 minutes.
I greased with a little oil after brushing them with the slice of garlic, peeled and cut in half.
In the meanwhile I prepared the tomatoes. I washed them and cut them into very little pieces, then I mixed them with salt. I put them on the slices of bread together with the basil leaves roughly cut with the hands.
I usually serve 3 or 4 slices per person with a spoon of tomatoes on each of them if I want to serve it as a main dish. Otherwise, like in this case, I serve it as a starter together with something else.
Buon appetito!
