Oven baked mac and cheese

One of the american classics prepared and served in an italian way, I used paccheri in fact, (a type of pasta in the shape of a very large tube, originating from Campania) and an italian combo of cheese, from Lombardia and Trentino Alto Adige.

What did I use

a large pot, a colander, a baking tray, a non-stick pan, a wooden spoon

Ingredients

80 gr of paccheri

50 gr of cheese, minced

100 gr of milk

salt/pepper to taste

15 gr of butter

10 gr of flour

How did I do

I boiled the paccheri in plenty of salted water al dente (10 minutes). I kept a ladle of cooking water and I dried them.

I prepared the sauce: I melted the butter at low heat, I added the flour,the milk little by little until the flour completely melted.

I mixed the paccheri with the cooking water and the sauce and I put it in the baking tray.

I cooked at 180°C for 25 minutes, mixing at half of the cooking.

I served hot decorating with some fresh basil.
